10 Must Have Baby Products for Summer

Summer is my absolute favorite season. There’s nothing better than feeling the hot sun on my skin, being on the water, or spending evenings outside. Now that I have kids it’s even better drawing with chalk on the sidewalk with my toddler and seeing my baby’s chunky little thighs in her summer rompers. As it warms up outside, we’re all thinking about gear we need to load up on for baby during the summer months. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite warm weather baby must-haves to share with you.

Favorite Baby Products for Summer

  1. Fisher-Price Portable Bassinet and Play Space On-the-Go Baby Dome: This is what I have picture above and comes in lots of color and patterns: Option 1. Option 2. Option 3. It folds up for easy storage and so that you can easily throw in the car and take it with you to the park or different places. It keeps the baby off of the grass and protects them from critters and the sun. Absolute most have in my book!

  2. Baby Water Float: We have the Mambobaby float (lots of colors and patterns to choose from) and I could not recommend enough. It gives me so much peace of mind in the water with a baby because baby is strapped in security and the device is structure in a way that prevents tipping.

  3. Baby Sunglasses: We were gifted Little Sunnies when Ada was born. I’ve tried several other kids sunglasses brands including cheaper versions on Amazon but came back to Little Sunnies. They’re the only ones that actually fit my babies’ faces, especially under 2 years old. I’m trying to see if I can get a discount code for you all (I’ll keep you updated)!

  4. Baby Sunscreen (for 6 months+): It’s best to use a mineral sunscreen on babies. We love all Tubby Todd products because they are clean and gentle on baby’s skin, and use their mineral sunscreen on our babies. Pro mom tip: use a cheap makeup brush or makeup sponge to apply sunscreen on your baby’s face as that seems to agitate them less than using your hands.

  5. Sun Hat: Floppy Hat Style. Bucket Hat Style. Since babies can’t wear sunscreen until they are 6 months it’s super important to keep their heads and bodies covered in light breathabe fabrics. I like to keep a sun hat in my diaper bag during the summer months especially.

  6. UPF 50+ Sun Protection Swimwear: Girl swim. Boy swim. Again, make sure baby’s skin is protected from that sun!

  7. Lightweight Baby Carrier: love the Solly Wrap for the newborn phase and the Wildbird Aerial for when baby is a bit bigger. They are both super lightweight and breathable so they are perfect for hot weather months.

  8. Stroller: We have the Mockingbird single to double stroller and use it as our primary stroller. I put this on my baby registry when I was having my first and it has grown well with us as we’ve added a second baby and now haul around a baby and a toddler.

  9. Stroller fan: I have two stroller fans: one to keep in the stroller and one in my car in case we’re out and I need one for her car seat too. I love these fun summer colors!

  10. Water Mist Fan: This water mist fan is perfect to throw in the diaper bag when you know you’ll be outside in the heat for a while like at the zoo or a carnival.
