Weekend Packing Checklist for Traveling with Baby
There was a time when Brice and I traveled A LOT. We spent the first few years of our marriage in a town that was located almost exactly in the middle between our two families. Since there were so many activities going on between weddings and other celebrations, we traveled on average 3 out 4 weekends of the month to spend the weekend away with one of our families. Once we had our first baby, Ada, I got pretty good at knowing what I would need for a baby over the weekend and packing a bag for her efficiently.
If you’re planning to spend some weekends away this year, here is the packing checklist I’d recommend to prepare for spending the weekend away. You could even use this list for a longer trip by adding a few more outfits and diapers to the list. If you are traveling during the summer make sure to check out my beach essentials for baby and warm weather must haves for baby and add those to your packing list.

Sunscreen: Pro mom tip - use a cheap makeup brush or makeup sponge to apply sunscreen on your baby’s face as that seems to agitate them less than using your hands.
Gear
Toys and Books: crinkle book, rattle, teether
Baby carrier: I like the Solly wrap for newborn stage or a more structured carrier for an older baby such as the Wildbird Aeriel or Mabe
Stroller: this travel stroller is extremely light, compact, and reclines really far which is great for tiny babies up to a small child. We used it all over Europe when Ada was just 4 months old!
Infant lounger / Bouncer that folds up and travels well
